Stussy “REST IS SILENCE” Collection – One of the perks of visiting a Stussy Chapter store is the perks. The New York chapter has a special installment for summer entitled “THE REST IS SILENCE,” and offers throwback Stussy iconography. Using the simple phrase and Stussy script, the collection covers a few graphic T-shirts, a black long-sleeve tee, coaches jacket, and the always present snapback. This latest drop is nothing extraordinary, but the idea of pack exclusive to a retail spot is a throwback to early nineties streetwear. “THE REST IS SILENCE” collection is available now at Stussy New York.
Don Pendleton x Vans – Everyone loves owls, and Don Pendleton has a unique geometric style to them that is being used for a new collaboration with Vans. The SoCal-based skate company taps the celebrated illustrator for a custom piece to be used across a slew of skate shoes. Look for the Authentic, Sk8-Hi, and the Iso 2 Mid to arrive with panels featuring the exclusive artwork. The trio of collaborative shoes will be available at select Vans retailers in early July.
The United States of Pizza – If you’ve had a drunken night with friends, then you’ll surely know the virtues of pizza. This delectable dish varies from region and Rizzoli attempts to expound on them all with the United States of Pizza: America’s Favorite Pizzas, From Thin Crust to Deep Dish, Sourdough to Gluten-Free. With bright and colorful photographs to an array of recipes the book looks into the the history of the pies along with the different tools and techniques that give famous pizzas their appeal.
Ray-Ban Remix – How would you like to customize your own pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses? That’s exactly what you can do with the new Remix pack from the venerable sunglasses maker. Using different colored frames, lenses, and arms the Remix pack allows fans to create their own Wayfarer, Clubmaster, Aviator, and more. I’ll be the first to admit not all of these look fly, but then again there aren’t many other brands that is allowing this level of customization. And, in addition to the array of options the Remix collection will also arrive with a range of colorful leatherette cases to choose from.
Samsung A8 – The Samsung Galaxy A8 may not be part of the flagship S-line, but it will hold the accolade of being the thinnest Samsung phone has ever produced. The A8 is slotted as a mid-tier phone with an Snapdragon eight-core processor, and a 16 megapixel camera. It doesn’t tout the 4K display like the S-line, but will still arrive with a Super Amoled display with a sharp 5.7 inch HD screen. This affordable alternative to the S6 is set to hit the Asian market first, and will eventually find its way to the states.
Tha Alumni Classic Tee – Streetwear and hip-hop has always shared a mutuality, and while streetwear tends to take the lead, there are now hip-hop inspired brands that are flipping logos and printing them across T-shirts. Tha-Alumni is the product of Kid Ink and DJ Ill Will, and besides their love for music is their admiration of Jordan. Their latest drop for summer is the Classic Tee, and it only takes about one second to see the resemblance to the Jordan logo. Tha Alumni obviously can’t use the Jumpman, but they do a decent job or representing their brand and using familiar Jordan colors don’t hurt either.

Filson Cotton Cruiser for Spring/Summer 2015 – My wool cruiser from Filson has been my most reliable winter purchase for the last 7 years. I’ve taken it through winters in New York and Vancouver, and it still looks new. I’m glad to see that there is now a spring and summer option in the Cotton Cruiser. Made from the Seattle-based company’s trademark oiled tin cloth the field jacket has a tightly woven cotton-canvas that is water repellent. With snap fastening closures, internal pockets, and large packet pockets the coat is ready for anything. And unlike, the previous wool model this one is lighter, more breathable, and perfect for those cool nights during the summer.

Nike Air Pippen – Nike is coming strong with nineties basketball heat with the announcement of the Nike Air Pippen. The first signature sneaker for the Chicago Bulls’ small forward was one of the first basketball shoes to be equipped with a full-length Air max sole. While most were mesmerized by the large Nike Air unit, the plastic piping around the quarter panels is what caught my attention. The “Pip” logo accents the tongue to complete one of the best sneakers from the golden era of basketball. Look for the Nike Air Pippen now at select Nike stockists.
